Oxford Landing Reservoir & Pumping Station

Town of Penhold

Project Description

The Town of Penhold has grown 32% between 2011 and 2016 making it one of the fastest growing communities in Alberta, and with its location along the QE 2 corridor, has high future growth potential. The existing reservoir and treatment facility had reached the end of its available storage and distribution flow capacity. The Town of Penhold applied for and received grant funding for a second reservoir. Tagish then began the process to complete the design and procurement package for newly constructed water storage, distribution, and treatment facility. The completed reservoir, distribution and treatment facility was successfully commissioned in the spring of 2018.

Tagish Engineering completed an analysis of the existing infrastructure capacity and future growth projections to determine the storage and flows required to service the Town’s needs. In addition to the water storage and distribution process equipment, a new water well was commissioned and licensed to provide the proposed reservoir raw water supply. Tagish was responsible for coordinating and managing all sub-consultants for the multi-discipline project which included structural design, MCC programming, utility coordination, geotechnical engineering, materials testing, HVAC, treatment, process and electrical. Tagish assembled a very competent team that worked and communicated well throughout the project ensuring project success.
