PROJECT DESCRIPTION.
The Town of Bashaw approached Tagish Engineering in 2012 with regards to the town operated sewage treatment lagoon. The 500 metre mid berm separating two storage cells experiences a high degree of wind action, causing erosion at the high level mark. Tagish Engineering evaluated the existing condition of the berm, and provided a cost effective solution to repair the utility and to mitigate future erosive effects.
ENGINEERING & CONSTRUCTION HIGHLIGHTS.
The design was completed to include: repair and reinforcement of the existing berm structure using clay borrow material, installation of Rhino Skin geosynthetic membrane and town supplied recycled concrete. Project design and management included: staging of constructed works to continue treatment operations, and repair of the lagoon cell inlet and outlet structures.
