PROJECT DESCRIPTION.

In 2012 the existing 50th Avenue Bridge crossing the Battle River in Ponoka was deemed structurally unsafe and should be replaced as soon as possible. The project included the construction of a new bridge to cross the Battle River able to withstand industrial loads as well as the realignment of 50th avenue. Tagish Engineering assessed, develop cost effective solutions, assisted in securing funding and all approvals, tendered and facilitated construction for all phases of two construction seasons it took to complete the project.

CONSTRUCTION HIGHLIGHTS.

  • 1,060 metres of Standard Curb & Gutter

  • 172 metres of assorted size Storm sewer pipe and related fittings installations

  • 6,300 Sq. metres of 100mm depth of 12.5mm ACP

  • 38,800 cu. metres of  clay fill excavated, imported and compacted

  • 4,250 sq. metres of existing asphalt removed and disposed of.
